The objectives of the study are (1) to find out the characterization of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in the movie Zootopia (2016) and (2) to find out the friendship values that portrayed by the main characters Judy and Nick in Zootopia movie (2016).

The researcher used the qualitative descriptive method with the data analysis approach. The primary data included are video files from the Disney movie  Zootopia and the movie script which was published in 2016. The secondary data are books, articles, and journals that are related to the general understanding of the movie, characterization, and friendship values of the two main characters in Zootopia movie. To collect the data, the researcher used the method of documentation. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis.

This study shows (1) the characteristics of the two main characters Judy and Nick. Judy is very optimistic and independent. She cares deeply about the welfare of others, she has a big heart. while Nick is generally charismatic, sociable, street-smart, wise, and very quick-witted but Nick is also sympathetic to those experiencing prejudice. (2) the friendship values that can be learned from the main characters Judy and Nick of Zootopia movie. The friendship values depicted in the main characters Judy and Nick are found: trust, cooperation, helping each other, support, honesty, and apologizing to each other. The conclusion of this study is that Judy and Nick have different characteristics from their outer appearance. We cannot judge people from the outside but get to know them deeper. We can also find the value of friendship in people with different characteristics.
