THE CIPP MODEL-BASED EVALUATION ON GENERAL ENGLISH PROGRAM AT STIKES BETHESDA YAKKUM YOGYAKARTA

English is a language that has spread widely in international relations in the era of globalization and the main language among other languages. Therefore, English started to be taught from primary to university level. To equip the students with English so that they can compete in a global working setting, STIKES Bethesda Yakkum Yogyakarta holds an English language educational program called General English Program that is interesting to evaluate. The research aims to evaluate General English Program using CIPP Model. It was qualitative research with a case study at STIKES Bethesda Yakkum Yogyakarta. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. On the dimension of context, the vision and mission of the institution are the foundation why General English Program is conducted. Regarding the facilities, a wide, clean and comfortable classroom and laboratories are strong points, whereas the internet connection needs to be improved. On the dimension of input, the teachers' teaching experience proves that it gives a significant contribution to the success of this program. While the dimension of process, the syllabus and module with four foundational skills that align with principles of communicative language teaching, the various methods used, and the use of target language in the teaching-learning process gives clear evidence on its contribution to the success of the program. The result of the achievement test is proof that the dimension of product contributes to the success of General English Program. The institution is recommended to continue the program as the realization of its vision and mission.
