The purpose of this research were: 1) To describe the implementation of the students’ speaking skill for XI grade students in SMKN 1 Pengasih by using podcast as the learning media. 2) To describe the benefits of implementing podcast in improving students’ speaking skill at SMKN 1 Pengasih as the learning media. 3) To describe the obstacles of implementing podcast in SMKN 1 Pengasih as the learning media.

This study used Classroom Action Research(CAR). It was conducted in two cycles which in each cycle consisted of two meetings. It was carried out from July to August 2021. The participants of this research were the researcher, the English teacher and 25 students of eleventh multimedia of SMKN 1 Pengasih in academic year 2021/2022. The data consisted of qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data were collected by interviewing the students and the English teacher, and observing the learning and teaching process during the implementation of podcast. The quantitative data were collected from the students’ speaking test in post-test.

The finding of the first cycle showed that the students speaking skill improved with the implementation of podcast in learning activity. The second cycle also showed the improvement of the students speaking skill especially in vocabulary and pronunciation. It was also supported by the means of the students’ speaking score which improved from 77.12 to 80.52 in the post-test. Also, from the mean of the students’ speaking score it can be concluded that their speaking skill were in a good level. Then, the researcher also found the benefit and obstacle by using podcast as the learning media. The first was the benefit of it. There were: 1)podcast could build the students’ confidence, motivation, and enthusiasm, 2)podcast could build the students vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency, 3)podcast were free and accessible, 4)podcast cut costs. The obstacles by using podcast as the learning media were: 1) the researcher should be keeping up with the latest podcast. 2)The students had difficulties in understanding the content of podcast.
