THE USE OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS FOR THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS IN YOGYAKARTA

Nowadays, English skill has become an important ability for people around the world. This research was about the implementation of YouTube videos in learning English speaking at the tenth-grade students of Insan Cendekia Vocational High School. There are five components of speaking that need mastered by a student. They are comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. The research aimed at answering the following questions: (1) What is the implementation of YouTube videos among students in SMK Insan Cendekia? (2) What are the strengths and the weaknesses of the implementation of YouTube videos?

The design of this research is descriptive qualitative research. The data was collected by using interview and observation sheets. The subject of this research are students tenth grade. The number of the subjects was twenty-five students.

The research results indicated that the students prefer learning by using YouTube videos because provide motion picture which is more interesting for the students. Based on these findings, YouTube videos is recommended for the teacher to teach speaking at school in order to make the students understand the lesson easily
